You are welcome. In advance. Yes, I know. A bit ahead of myself, eh. We'll you'll thank us later. My girls and I have a few really awesome beauty tricks 'specially designed to help you weather -the uh, weather. Read on loves.

1. Frizz combat.

Simple enough, gently push a dryer sheet over the bristles of your favorite brush. Sure, you could just rub the dryer sheet over your head, but this technique won't remove the volume from your hair. Dryer sheets help remove static from things, this little twist leaves you with bounce sans frizz. Works like magic.

2. Wash your hair less.

Yes, you heard that right. Whether your hair needs a quick shot of dry shampoo or you practice co-washing, going longer between shampoos is good for your hair. The natural oils that your scalp creates are created on purpose. Your body uses those oils to condition and fight dry scalp and brittle hair. So, if you can go a day or two longer -who knows, it could mean you'd have less to trim next time your up for a cut.

3. Coconut oil vs. Baby oil vs. Avocado oil

Okay, so there are all these trends about which oil is healthier, safer, cheaper, etc. I've done a bit of reading. It comes down to this. Baby oil is mineral oil derived from petroleum but still deemed pretty safe. Coconut oil is everyone's new best friend, some claim its a safer alternative but offers the same stuff just a little more expensive. Avocado Oil, grapeseed oil, etc. is the same, just for those with a coconut allergy. Whatever you use, the key is to apply it to soft, moist skin. Yes, before you towel off rub a little on your skin. [A little on the ends of your hair, your cuticles if needed]. Affordable, natural and it really, really makes your skin soft. Just be careful getting out of the bathtub, it gets slippery.

4. Use a brush, not your fingers

Prone to drier skin? Using your finger tips to apply makeup can help dry out skin. Your fingertips can absorb natural oils your skin omits, leaving behind a drier surface as you apply. Also, it contaminates your makeup overtime and is super unsanitary. So, use a [clean] makeup brush!

5. Cool it down

There isn't anything I love more than a steaming hot shower after being in the freezing cold. Be warned though, a long steaming hot shower can dry skin out further. So stick to a shorter warm shower to avoid unnecessary dryness once your out of the shower.

6. Lanolin & Lactic Acid

When it comes to cracked or dry feet, look for a lotion that contains lactic acid. Its helps to moisturize and exfoliate. [yes, at the same time.] So when your tootsies are feeling extra rough, a little lotion with this miracle ingredient helps now and gets you closer to softer feet over time. Chapped lips, dry hands? Look for Lanolin. Its a natural oily wax derived from sheep's wool. Its a great moisturizer that works to eliminate evaporation, ensuring you stay hydrated longer.

7. Nailed it.

Yes, a good diet and healthy lifestyle help to produce long healthy nails. We get it, but its freaking cold out and like my hair my nails also get a little brittle in the cold. This is a simple one, a strong top coat with or without nail polish can help add a layer to your nail bed to fight against a rouge chip. A little polish can help prevent your nail from breaking, even if you aren't a girly-girl.

So that about does it! We've got some super helpful posts coming up in the next few weeks but these are a few of our favorite winter tricks. Hang in there, summer will be here soon. I hope.
