I am so excited to finally launch Beauty Sh*t with Alison Harper! It's been in the pipeline for a little bit now but I'm finally able to launch! This site will hopefully be a place for stylists, makeup artists and salon owners to find resources, sass and help when they need it. Make sure you scope out the site, you'll find downloadables, resources and other fun goodies along the way. I think after 10 years, its high time I start helping my fellow industry babe out. -right?!
Thank you for checking out my site, supporting this new endeavor & tell your artist friends. We've got a super supportive, private group too!
Beauty Sh*t with Alison Harper Group
Thank you always for the love.
We've all seen it on pinterest. Its stunning, vibrant and absolutely gorgeous. Bright pop hair color. Its a huge trend and as a stylist I adore it. Like most stylists though, it sends a little chill down your spine each time someone asks you to do it without truly understanding what you are asking. I hate to break it to you -it takes a LOT of work and can be quite a process. So, today I'd like to take a little time to break some of it down for you. I thought the easiest way to do so is to break it down into categories of information, then you can decide if you have what it takes to maintain this look.
Let's talk reality
This part is going to make me look like a buzz-kill but I think people need a small dose of reality when requesting pop hair color. First things first, most of those stunning photos of long haired beauties with vibrant hair are PHOTOSHOPPED.
::que the shock and awe::
The first photo that you fell in love with is actually the magic of photo shop. Just like these others below. Like I said, Debbie-downer. First things first, its not impossible; it's totally possible. I think its important to understand that the internet is a vast place that can easily mislead you into believing that a trend like this is commonplace and easy to achieve. So I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I just need to paint a complete and clear idea of what this look takes. Not many people actually have it and in the next section you'll learn the kind of work that goes into it.
